Having eaten and rested well in Fearn we made great progress onto Wick, early rain followed by clear skies and a SW wind.
More Buzzards, finally saw some Highland Cattle and a seal briefly popped up its head.
We decided to press on to John O Groats and arrived there at 6pm to have the obligatory photo taken in blustery and cool weather!
So, 950 LEJOG miles completed plus at least another 50 extra to the route: too early to feel elation (a curry and a pint in a minute will help!) But we have a deep sense of gratitude for safety and fitness along the way; some amazingly kind hospitality; and a fresh appreciation of the beauty and majesty of the length and breadth of the British Isles.
Thanks for all your support.
We will be relaxing all the way down the 18 hour train journey tomorrow from Wick, to Inverness, to Aberdeen, London and onto Oxford Tuesday.
More thoughts anon.
